Now that Adrian Newey has announced that he will be leaving Red Bull Racing, there was a fear of a major exodus from the racing stable. Motorsport.com However, we have learned that Red Bull has already signed the important technical leaders earlier this year.

Newey has been one of the pillars of the racing team from Milton Keynes in recent years. The rumbling at the top of the team is said to be a cause of the British designer’s departure. There was a fear that more leaders would follow, but as far as the technical team is concerned, not many changes are expected. For example, Red Bull has previously managed to secure technical director Pierre Waché for a longer period and chief engineer Paul Monaghan also has a longer contract.

Red Bull does not want to stand in Wheatley’s way

According to the medium, the fact that Wheatley may want to leave Red Bull Racing has nothing to do with the unrest within the team. Wheatley simply hopes to be able to grow into a role as team boss. That will of course not work at Red Bull because Christian Horner still holds sway there. Wheatley is also said to be satisfied with his current position, although the team is also considering a possible departure. If a job as team boss can be filled, the Austrian team does not want to stand in Wheatley’s way.
