Anyone who wants to get tickets for FC Groningen – Roda JC for next Friday evening will have to bring a big bag of money. For the promotion cracker in the first division, quite a few tickets are offered on Marktplaats, but they are not going for the normal price.
For those who don’t follow the first division closely: it is extremely exciting in the competition. Roda JC is second, Groningen third, three points behind Roda. The two will play the last competition match against each other next Friday evening at 8 p.m.
Bert offers two cards
Willem II has another point more than Roda, and has therefore already been promoted. The first two from the competition go to the premier league. So it is now still between Groningen and Roda. If Groningen wins, they will be promoted. If that doesn’t happen, Roda will play a division higher. The stakes are therefore extremely high.
The tickets for the match are extremely popular, as can be seen on Marktplaats. For example, Bert Haan offers two cards via Marktplaats. VIP tickets, in the business gallery. “Top row under roof so dry,” he writes. And: ‘Bids that are not serious will be removed.’
Several non-serious bids have already been removed
Bert tells RTL News that he has already received several of those non-serious offers. “I’ve already removed a few of those.” At the time of writing, the bidding page shows a bid of 4,000 euros at the top.
Bert doesn’t know whether it is serious. “I am in contact with someone who offers 2,000 euros, and he is serious. Another who offers 3,750 euros says he wants to contact me tonight.”
Money to a good cause
The tickets in the VIP stand normally cost around 300 euros each, says Bert. Now he probably has a lot more left over from it. He would have preferred to just go himself, but family circumstances prevent that. He assures: “The money goes to a good cause. The light campaign of Tov from Drachten receives the money. That is for people who are lonely at Christmas.”

‘Normal’ cards can also be found frequently on Marktplaats. Bids of 100 euros or more are no exception and new cards continue to appear on the platform.
One thing is certain: next Friday the FC Groningen stadium will be filled to the brim. The fans only want one thing: FC Groningen back to the Premier League. The Roda JC players will try to prevent exactly that.
