Bayern Munich recently discussed internally the possibility of appointing Louis van Gaal, reports Kicker. The 72-year-old coach was already at the helm of the southern Germans between 2009 and 2011. He is now active as an advisor to Ajax, which is in crisis.

Given his age, Van Gaal is not seen as a permanent solution. However, the Dutchman could be an interim solution until the summer of 2025, while Bayern continues to look for a long-term coach. The German top club wants to try again at that time to sign Xabi Alonso, Jürgen Klopp, Josep Guardiola or Sebastian Hoeneß.

So far, Van Gaal’s appointment has been nothing more than a figment of his imagination. Concrete discussions with the former national coach of the Dutch national team have not yet taken place. Also the possible arrival of Hansi Flick and Lucien Favre. Both coaches have been unemployed since their respective dismissals from the German national team and OGC Nice.
