Lando Norris won the F1 Grand Prix of Miami last Sunday. This means that McLaren CEO Zak Brown will have to get a new tattoo, but he doesn’t really seem to be looking forward to that.
Norris started the race at the Miami International Autodrome from fifth position and only fought with Sergio Pérez during the first stint. The Briton stayed out the longest and increased the pace with his old mediums. He was then able to make a free pit stop when the safety car had to come on track due to Logan Sargeant’s crash. After the restart he drove away from Max Verstappen in the hunt for his first ever victory. It is McLaren’s second F1 victory since Brown was appointed CEO in April 2018. After the first time he decided to get a tattoo, although he explained that for him “needles are quite scary”, but “sometimes you have to overcome your greatest fears”.

Nineteen turns are going to hurt
“He’s getting better and better,” Brown replied when asked F1 TV how Norris has grown since his debut in 2018 to now as a driver with a Formula 1 victory to his name. “He’s very calm behind the wheel and he didn’t make any mistakes. I think he’s only going to get stronger now. He’s now a Grand Prix winner and as you know, winning races, as soon as you cross that threshold you will gain self-confidence that will be taken to a higher level. So look out for us.”
James Hinchcliffe then wondered which tattoo Brown was going to get. The American had the layout of the Monza circuit and the date of Daniel Ricciardo’s victory in 2021 written on his left arm. “That will be Miami,” he responded. “I wish it was a shorter circuit. Monza wasn’t too painful, but this one has a lot more corners. Nineteen corners, that’s going to be quite painful.”
