Johan Derksen mentions it Today Inside ‘too crazy for words’ that the Italian Francesco Farioli may become the new trainer of Ajax. After the resignation of Graham Potter, the current trainer of OGC Nice is one of the remaining candidates on the Amsterdam wish list, which also includes the name Erik ten Hag. Chris Woerts suggests a third option, which does meet Derksen’s approval.
The news that Potter has pulled the plug on negotiations with Ajax will be briefly discussed in the talk show on Thursday. “He couldn’t reach an agreement with Kroes. And Kroes is a tough negotiator,” says sports marketer Woerts. Derksen is already anticipating the possibility that the Amsterdam team will now switch to Farioli. “I would think it would be crazy if that boy came from Nice. He has been a goalkeeper coach at a few clubs, he has had two unclear clubs in Turkey and is now at Nice. He is 35 years old and has no experience at all. “You wouldn’t give that to Ajax under these difficult circumstances, would you?”
Woerts then suggests that Pascal Jansen, who has been without a club since his dismissal from AZ, would be a better option for Ajax. “That would be a great man,” Derksen responds positively. “That trainer, that man who did the training at AZ (Marijn Beuker, ed.), is also already at Ajax, so he and Jansen have already worked together.”
