The Tour de France starts in Copenhagen in two days. There is therefore not much time left to change in your pool team, but you may still change something after this video. Strategy tip #3
There are pools where you can select unlimited top riders or – because of a huge budget – you can almost only put good riders in your team. That is a lot more difficult in WielerFlits Team Leader, because your budget is limited. If we look at the most expensive riders in the game, we see that for Tadej Pogačar (20) and Primož Roglič (19) you have spent most of your budget (your entire budget is 100 euro points for thirteen riders). Strategy tip #3 is therefore: spread your chances of winning!
If you dare not include both Slovenians, but choose Aleksandr Vlasov or Jonas Vingegaard, you will have more points that you can invest in another good rider. You may then miss out on a number of points from both Slovenians, but you can add an extra rider to your team due to the remaining budget, who also provides points. If you add that to Vlasov or Vingegaard, you might get more points with two riders than with Pogačar or Primož Roglič alone.
Moreover, if you choose to invest a large part of your budget on a top rider and he drops out, your entire Tour Pool may already be to giggle† So choose wisely, although Pogačar is perfectly defensible. Because he also qualifies for the youth classification, he can score extra points there. Last year he also won the mountains classification, although that seems to be a more difficult task this year due to the changed rules. It’s all in the game!
