Charles Leclerc will work with a new race engineer from the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix. Ferrari announced the news last night, which means that Leclerc will say goodbye to Xavi Marcos Padros. Leclerc thanks him in an emotional message.
Leclerc and Marcos Padros worked together at Ferrari for years. The Spanish engineer became something of an icon with his frequently used phrase ‘we are checking’. Ferrari announced on Thursday evening that Marcos will focus on a different position within the company. He therefore says goodbye to Leclerc, and from the race weekend at the Imola circuit he will be replaced by Bryan Bozzi.
Leclerc will miss Marcos, he said in a message on Instagram. The Monegasque Ferrari driver shares an emotional message: “We have worked together for years, we took my first pole together, won my first race and experienced my first year at Ferrari. You always got the best out of me by pushing me hard, it didn’t matter what situation we were in. Thank you for everything and good luck with your new adventures in the near future.”
