The Red Bull Racing team is still very strong in Formula 1 this year. Max Verstappen won four of the first six races and he is in the lead in the world championship. New regulations will be introduced in Formula 1 in 2026, but according to Oliver Mintzlaff, Red Bull can rule.

Red Bull has been in control of Formula 1 since 2022. The Austrian racing team has understood the regulations best, and the other teams are still trying to catch up. Red Bull is still strong, although this year they were defeated by Carlos Sainz in Australia and by Lando Norris in Miami. Red Bull is expected to reign until 2026, but anything can happen after that.

Dominate

Red Bull CEO Oliver Mintzlaff thinks everything will turn out well. From 2026, Red Bull will drive its own engines that they are developing together with Ford. According to rumors, these power sources are not that powerful, but Mintzlaff is positive to Bild: “We want to continue where we are now in 2026: at the top of Formula 1. There is of course no guarantee, but we have proven that major rule changes are coming.” , and others have not been able to close the gap with us for three years. Max must have noticed that too and it gives me a positive feeling about the future.”

Next phase

Mintzlaff knows that developing your own power source is a huge step. However, the CEO is not worried, because Red Bull has been working on the project together with Ford for quite some time: “We have not been preparing for 2026 since yesterday. Of course, building our own engine is a big task and challenge, but we are confident that we can master this step. This is the next phase in Red Bull’s development.”
