The series 3 Body Problem was released on Netflix on March 21 and is still in the Netflix Top 10.
In the meantime, the series from showrunners David Benioff, DB Weiss and Alexander Woo has been in the Netflix Top 10 for almost six weeks and fans are certainly looking forward to the next season. The big question still remains: will there be a second season?
Pricey
With a production budget of reportedly $160 million for eight episodes 3 Body Problem not a cheap series. It also does not seem that Netflix has to cut back on costs, as the series has quite a few diverse storylines and environments.
Yet the biggest problem lies in the budget. The reception of 3 Body Problem was mixed and not entirely convincing. It is undoubtedly satisfying that the series remains in the Top 10 for a long time.
Lots of viewing hours
In the Netherlands, the science fiction series is now in tenth place. The first season is still in sixth position worldwide, with 16 million viewing hours last week. That is more than the number of viewing hours of The Gentlemen. This crime series was good for 15.1 million viewing hours.
If the number of viewing hours of 3 Body Problem is compared to the current hit series on Netflix, then it may be a bit disappointing. Baby Reindeer, released on April 11, reached an astonishing 87.4 million viewing hours last week. More positively, it appeared recently Dead Boy Detectives recorded only 22.2 million viewing hours last week. Clearly less than that 3 Body Problem in the first week: 78 million.
