Actress Shannen Doherty has had cancer for some time and last year she announced that the cancer had spread to her brain. The actress hopes to live another three to five years, but is already preparing for death.
Shannen was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. Two years later she went into remission, but in 2019 the cancer returned in stage 4. In her podcast Let’s Be Clear tells Shannen that she is preparing for death.
To prepare
“My priority right now is my mother. I know it will be hard for her if I die before her,” Shannen explains. That is why she has decided to clean out her homes and storage spaces, so that her mother no longer has to do that when she dies. “Because it will be so difficult for her, I want other things to become a lot easier. I don’t want her to have to deal with a lot of things. I don’t want her to have four storage rooms full of furniture.”
Emotional
The cleanup was emotional for Shannen. “I was packing and started crying…I felt like I was giving up on a dream and what did that mean to me? Did this mean I was giving up on life? Did this mean I threw in the towel?” she wonders.
‘I do not wanna die’
Although Shannen is already dealing with death, she is far from ready to go. “I don’t want to die,” she previously said in an interview with People. “I’m not done with living, with loving, with creating, with changing things for the better. I’m just not ready. My best memory is yet to come.”
