Justin Kluivert (24) was worth his weight in gold for Bournemouth on Tuesday evening. The Dutchman came on half an hour before the end with a goalless score, but scored the winning goal at home against Crystal Palace.

It was anything but high-quality on Tuesday evening in rainy Bournemouth, where Philip Billing had hit the crossbar with a header and Eberechi Eze saw a goal on behalf of the visitors disallowed for offside. The scoreless score was reason for coach Andoni Iraola to bring in Kluivert and former AZ defender Milos Kerkoz – and with success.

It is not the first time that the Dutchman has appeared as a substitute: earlier this season he scored the winning goal against Queens Park Rangers in the FA Cup after being 2-0 down. The winger scored all other goals (a total of seven across all competitions) as a starter, which he generally is at Bournemouth.

With thirteen points from the last five Premier League matches, Kluivert’s employer can demonstrate excellent form. Erik ten Hag has been warned: with Manchester United, he is the next team to visit Dean Court. First wait for The Cherries the away match against Luton Town.
