On Sunday, April 21, the Nanterre public prosecutor’s office opened an investigation into kidnapping and death threats. The victim could have called her mother to report that a man she had met a week earlier was holding her in a flat in Gennevilliers.

The suspect took his victim’s mobile phone and sent disturbing messages to the mother and ex-boyfriend of the woman he was holding, ‘Le Parisien’ reported. The messages to the mother were terrifying, as confirmed by a police source. “Good luck, you will never find your daughter, you will never see her again, I am going to prostitute your daughter,” he threatened. He explained to her former partner that he wanted to “avenge Palestine.”

The Hauts-de-Seine departmental police (SDPJ) were then able to quickly locate the flat. The subsequent police intervention last Sunday ended the woman’s ordeal. Whether this was also a case of rape is still being investigated.

The man was arrested and suspected of holding and threatening a woman against her will. The public prosecutor asked to place him under judicial supervision and he will stand trial in the criminal court on June 21.
