WILLEMSTAD – Today is the last day that people with a Dutch passport on the islands can register to vote for the European Parliament elections on June 6. You must be 18 years or older on that day.

That’s possible www.stemvanuithetbuitenland.nlwhere the registration form is also available.

To date, 1,312 people have registered in Curaçao. On Aruba there are 1160 and on Sint Maarten 202. Worldwide, more than 97,000 Dutch people are registered to vote from abroad in this election.

The ballot papers are sent by the Representation of the Netherlands in Oranjestad, Willemstad and Philipsburg, where a postal polling station is also set up. Voters can cast their votes there and the ballots are also counted there.

Registered voters will receive a notification at the end of May when they can vote. In the Netherlands, the election will take place on Thursday, June 6, and votes must be submitted to the Representation of the Netherlands no later than 3:00 PM local time on that day.
