Marktplaats will offer the option to purchase the product directly for a fixed price Tweakers

The service is available for products that can be shipped via a parcel service, writes Marktplaats. Sellers can choose whether they want to add an Instant Buy option to their ads. It remains possible to bid. This option allows buyers to pay immediately and complete the purchase, just as is already possible with eBay.

Purchases are linked directly to the Buyer Protection feature. This was introduced in 2022 as a replacement for the Equal Crossing service. Buyers pay forty cents and five percent of the agreed purchase amount to Marktplaats. The money is then first sent to a suspense account. If buyers report within seven days of shipment that the package has not arrived or is damaged, or that the contents of the package are different than agreed, the money will be held and the buyer can receive a refund.

The Instant Buy feature will be released in phases starting today. Marktplaats expects this to be available to every private seller within two weeks. It is not clear whether business Marktplaats users will also have access to the function.
