Two sin-bins in the opening 20 minutes, five tries, a slew of odd plays and ultimately it ends with a pretty predictable scoreline.

Former Panthers coach Matthew Elliott is at a loss for words to describe that “high-quality weird” half.

“We’ve witnessed some pretty weird halves of footy, but that one is definitely on the podium,” he says on ABC Sport.

“Strange doesn’t go near what we just witnessed.”

And after all that, the Rabbitohs fans give their struggling team a standing ovation as they head past them up the tunnel.

If there’s one thing Souths fans know how to do, it’s get behind a team that is battling at the bottom of the ladder.
