Lots of divorces in MAFS, viewers feast on ‘winning’ couple

A lot of marriages survived MAFS-don’t experiment. Last night, during the denouement, there was often a divorce, with quite a bit of drama. Including by Erik and Gerben and David and Kim. But one couple appeared to have found love Married at First Sight. And viewers loved that ‘winning’ couple.

The marriage of candidates Suzanne and Bastiaan was not really a great success and was therefore ended. Things didn’t really get along between Erik and Gerben in the earlier episodes either. Although Erik wanted to explore his marriage further, Gerben officially ended their relationship experiment.

Sarath and Malou also look back on their marriage, which was quite turbulent and ended before the denouement. Sarath continues to believe in love and cherishes the beautiful moments with Malou. Malou explains that she has come closer to herself. “I am good the way I am and I am very proud of that.”

David gives Kim a final scolding in Married at First Sight

David and Kim’s marriage also fails. And David honestly tells what is on his heart. Kim has apparently made quite a few statements to him: “That you were further along in your development than I was. That you understood the match for me, but that you didn’t see it for you. That I was too insecure. And that has been an accumulation for me, which has made me feel a great distance.” According to Kim, David drew these conclusions himself and those were not her words.

And although Kim tries to end things on a fairly positive note in her final words to David, David has the final say. And Kim could count on a scolding. An unfair and harsh ending, according to Kim. “This is what I encounter every time. That you show a different face when a lot of people are around. And when those people are not there and you are with me, you see the real David. That he’s not such a sweet man. He is very good with his words and it shows again now.” But the experts and presenter Carlo Boszhard emphasize that David simply feels that way about his marriage to Kim.

Lots of breakups and drama

Candidates Jeffrey and Jerney seemed to be a good match as a couple. Their marriage went well on the air and the two grew closer. But yesterday it was announced that this couple has also broken up. After a holiday, Jeffrey discovered that he did not miss Jerney. And that is why the two decided to divorce after all.

Also the MAFSexperts look critically at their actions. There was a lot of criticism towards the program from viewers. This is because in many cases the candidates did not turn out to be a good match and marriages broke down at a fairly early stage. Including Anneke and Dirk, who quickly pulled the plug. Experts Patrick and Radboud in turn lashed out at the program makers. Who, according to them, exerted too much influence on the matches. It led to quite a few conflicts behind the scenes and Patrick apparently will not return to the program.

According to the experts, the older couples have been more challenging. They emphasize that candidates who have been alone for a long time are more difficult to connect.

One MAFS marriage turns out to be a success

After all the failed marriages and divorces, there is still light at the end of the tunnel. Jeppe and Jantine appear to be the only couple who are happy in their marriage. Jeppe speaks highly of his Jantine and that is quite endearing.

When the couple looks back at the images of their wedding, they can’t keep it dry. And when Jantine and Jeppe give their last ‘vows’, love also radiates. Viewers loved the sweet words the two said to each other. And breathe a sigh of relief that at least one couple survived the love experiment.
