In a new episode of ‘Geuze en Gorgels’, the podcast by Monica Geuze (29) and Kaj Gorgels (33), Monica’s program ‘The Bachelor’ is discussed. Kaj appears to be well informed about what is happening in the show. He immediately takes the opportunity to share his suspicions and unvarnished opinions.
“The cork just barely flew out of his mouth”
First of all, Kaj notes that it seems quite tiring to him to be in the shoes of the Bachelor. The long days and constantly having to talk to other candidates. Then he says that something has struck him this season. “I feel like Paul… I think Paul is drunk all day.”
Monica responds in surprise: “Oh, you think so?” Kaj explains that he sees Paul walking around with a glass of cava in his hand in every shot. According to Kaj, you can feel the drink quite a bit when you’ve been on the road for a few hours.
Monica acknowledges that she has heard that gossip before; even her boyfriend recently asked her if it was true that Paul was drunk on screen. But Monica was unable to catch the Bachelor having one too many drinks during the recordings. “I don’t think I saw him drunk once there.” Kaj doesn’t quite believe it. According to him, Paul was looking vaguely into the camera and was slurring his words. “The cork just barely flew out of his mouth,” Kaj laughs.
According to Monica, this may also have to do with the warm temperatures. She thinks Paul may have suffered from heat stroke. Kaj rather thinks it was a combination of too much drink and the heat. Anyway, it doesn’t get in the way of Paul’s dates. They have been going very smoothly so far. A new episode of The Bachelor can be seen every Thursday at Videoland.
