In retrospect, participating in ‘Expedition Robinson’ was a confrontational experience for Eva Simons (39). The survival program for celebrities was a good motivation for the 39-year-old singer to lose weight, she says in the magazine ‘&C’. “But I was still shocked when I saw the program again. In my head I was already doing very well, but during the tests and slow-motion images I saw everything fluttering,” says Eva.

“Drink turned out to be the silent killer”

Before her participation, Simons weighed 105 kilos. When she arrived in Malaysia, where the filming took place, she had already lost 15 kilos. When she saw herself on TV afterwards, she experienced it as confrontational. After the program, Eva lost another 8 kilos. “At first you have the tendency to eat like crazy, but I thought: no, then you suffered all that pain for nothing,” says the singer.

Eva has now learned what her pitfalls are. “Years ago I went to rehab, and I thought drugs were the problem. But I got rid of them quite easily, the drink turned out to be the silent killer. I replaced the sugars in wine with the sugars in food, which caused me to gain so much weight. “, explains the artist.

What Eva does now to lose weight is ‘exercise a lot, but not to the gym’. It helps the singer to keep it up. “I lost weight to 68 kilos,” she says. It is time for the singer to work on her ‘new life’. “To stop hiding and say: Hey, I’m back, and I’m having a great time!”
