And in between came tearjerkers that made a deep impression; such as last week’s episode, where candidate Rens discovered during the recordings that he suffers from MS. It was heartbreaking.

‘Wet mop’

In any case, I became a wet mop because of this program. Especially since the news that Martijn Krabbé is also seriously ill. It may be sad to say, but it is the truth: I can no longer look at him completely normally. I keep thinking: would I have known this during these recordings? How would he have felt?

Rose and Bob

Towards the end of the episode I was able to grab a new pack of tissues. The reveal of the house in Haren for Ferdos and Marlou was one of the A category. Roos and Bob worked their magic and delivered an almost unrecognizable house. Completely in ‘wabi-sabi Japandi’ style. What does that mean? I have no idea, but if Roos lets it roll off the tongue in such a characteristically beautiful way, I don’t really care.
