A twenty-year-old man has been nailed to a fence in Bushmills, Northern Ireland. He had a nail through both hands. The police speak of a “sinister attack”.
The victim was found just after midnight on Sunday and taken to hospital. He also had injuries to his nose.
The injuries are “not life-threatening, but potentially life-changing,” police said. It is still unclear why the man was so mauled. “We live in a democratic society and there is no justification for something like that.”
Belfast Telegraph writes that two vehicles were also on fire in a parking lot in Bushmills. One of them was the victim’s van. Graffiti in the area also appears to be related to the attack.
The police are asking witnesses to come forward and hope that people have recorded useful images, for example with a dashcam.
