17-year-old who assaulted his teacher is charged and tried as an adult

The quote “F around, find out” has been popping up everywhere on social media lately, and means something like “bean comes for his paycheck”. Although that sounds less cool, but that’s another story. It certainly applies to 17-year-old Aquavis Hickman, who hit his teacher at Parkland High School in Winston-Salem (North Carolina, America) several times in the face.

Those images ended up online, and he was soon arrested. It was not the first time he had assaulted a teacher and it has now been decided that he will be prosecuted for assault and kidnapping, and will also be tried as an adult. Public Prosecution Service lawyer Jim O’Neill said:

We stand behind the teachers. We will fight to protect those teachers. And if you touch a teacher and attack a teacher, you can expect the punishment to be swift and severe.
