A 49-year-old homeowner shot at two burglars last night, whom he caught in his living room around 3 a.m. This case occurred on the Santopolderweg series 2 in Suriname.

The man’s son said in conversation with the editors of Waterkant.Net that he and his parents were in deep rest at that moment. They woke up after hearing a noise in the living room.

His father grabbed his handgun and went armed from the bedroom to the living room. To his horror he saw two people. Without hesitating, he fired twice at the intruders.

They immediately ran away and left through a sliding window, which they had forced to enter moments before.

Images captured by a camera (photo above) show three people running away from the yard. The complainant assumes that two were in the house and one was outside as a lookout.

Although no traces of blood were found, they suspect that one of the perpetrators was hit.

The Santo Boma police were on site to investigate after the report. Efforts are underway to track down and arrest the fugitive suspects.
