Veldeke Valkenburg comes with a book full of never-before-shared…

As part of the celebration of 80 Years of Liberation, Veldeke Valkenburg is launching a new book containing eighty previously untold stories. Of course with a local approach.

In the chapters, Valkenburgers share their history about the liberation and aftermath of the Second World War. “There are moving stories. Stories about fear, threat and death. Experiences that were stored deep in the brain and have now surfaced, because they were often deep,” Veldeke shares.

The 230-page book, which will be presented on Friday, September 13, is titled Valkenburg 2024, 80 years of liberation! The untold stories and costs 12.50 euros for pre-registration. Anyone who purchases a copy in the store pays fifteen euros. The work will be published in an edition of two thousand copies.
