The holiday season is coming. Relax in the sun with a drink and a good book. Not planning to spend a fortune on books? Is not necessary. You can get them here for next to nothing.

The annual book fair in Glanerbrug takes place from Wednesday 1 to Sunday 5 May. About sixty thousand second-hand books can then be sold for small prices.

Something for everyone

How small? Prices vary from 50 cents to 2.50 euros per book. You pay a little more for special editions. There is something for everyone: novels, literature, thrillers, children’s books, chick lit, hobby books.

For the good cause

The proceeds go to three charities: De Wonne residential community, Vincentius Association Glanerbrug and Casa do Menino children’s home in Brazil.

The Glanerbrug Book Fair takes place on Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Location: De Troubadour primary school at Sonatestraat 44A. Entrance is free.

Book sales in the library

You can also score books for next to nothing on Saturday, May 11. Enschede Zuid Library will then hold a book sale between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. All books cost 50 cents each, for four comic books you pay 1 euro and five magazines together cost 50 cents. You can buy a full bag of books for 4.50 euros.

Also for non-members

Admission is free and you do not need to have a library membership to take advantage of this promotion. Make sure you bring your debit card, you cannot pay in cash. You will find the library at Wesseler-nering 46 in Enschede.
