(ABM FN-Dow Jones) Alfen and grid operator Liander have agreed on a new production method to prevent moisture in Pacto’s transformer stations. Alfen reported this on Monday morning, after the company reported moisture problems in the medium-voltage areas at the beginning of this month.

In addition, Alfen’s supply of Pacto transformer stations has been resumed since mid-April by reworking produced transformer stations that had not yet been installed, Alfen said on Monday.

“Alfen’s top priority was to develop and implement a new production method to prevent moisture and resume the supply of new Pacto transformer stations to Liander,” the company said.

Liander approved Alfen’s new production method in mid-April.

Alfen expects to scale up production during 2024 to make up for the delays in the first half of the year. As production returns to normal levels, Alfen and Liander will continue to monitor the reliability of the substations in Pacto, the company said.

No impact on outlook

The temporary production stop at Pacto substations for Liander and the subsequent ramp-up of production will have no impact on the target of achieving a 20 percent turnover growth at Smart Grid Solutions this year, Alfen said on Monday.

In addition, the company estimates the total cost impact at approximately 5 million euros.
