This spacious and sturdy SUV is now a very affordable used car

No, you don’t want one of those family SUVs that the whole neighborhood already drives! Your car is tough, just like you, with an appearance as if you can take it into rough terrain. That never happens and it must of course be a usable, spacious and affordable occasion, both to purchase and to use.

Dacia Duster (2018 – 2021)

The Dacia Duster scores in this regard with its sturdy appearance, but it has much more to offer. The controls are simple, the front seats are comfortable, the six-speed gearbox shifts neatly and it is reasonably quiet at cruising speed. It is nice and spacious, even on the back seat, and offers no less than 478 liters of luggage space. Compared to its predecessor(s), it is even quite comfortable.

The TCe 125 petrol engine in the Dacia Duster consumes an average of 1 in 13 to 14 and that is also quite good. There is quite a range of used Dusters and for our budget we can just choose the version from 2018, which is preferable. The black Prestige used car (2018, 73,000 km), for example, at the dealership in Eindhoven for 14,945 euros.

You should pay attention to this when purchasing a used car

For the time being, only one problem is known with this generation of the Duster, which sometimes occurs. If the battery voltage is temporarily too low, for example due to frequent restarts during very short journeys, the car may become confused in the software. The result is that it no longer wants to start at all, even with starting aid. A reset of the software is now required, then everything will work again, although it can’t hurt to have the condition of the battery checked.
