Bitvavo has made it clear that customer funds are safe. They also indicate that there is no indication that passwords have been leaked. Hackers will most likely not have access to the trading accounts of those affected. Nevertheless, it is important to be vigilant for suspicious activity. One must also beware of phishing emails, which are likely to increase in number due to the leak.
One way to avoid the danger of phishing emails is to set the aforementioned anti-phishing code. In emails from Bitvavo, this code will be mentioned in the message, from which one can deduce that it comes from the correct sender.
