In the category ‘e-bike (support up to 25 km/h) – Economy’, which is a lower price class, the winner was the Specialized Turbo Vado 3.0. This bicycle has a recommended retail price of 2,900 euros.
“The bicycle scored very well across the board with both the professional and private jury, with the smooth and silent engine, coupled with the extremely smooth driving characteristics, being the most striking. Once again the prize for this bicycle, which has previously been awarded the Bike of the Year 2022,” says VAB.
The Canyon Precede ON comfort 5 came in second place in this category. “The jury was charmed by the comfortable driving behavior, the technically high-quality components and the beautiful finish.”
Sporty design and smooth engine
In the category ‘e-bike (support up to 25 km/h) – Premium’, the more expensive segment, the Gazelle Eclipse C380 HBM won, a bicycle with a recommended retail price of 5,999 euros. “A deserved winner. The Gazelle was the clear crowd favorite among our private testers and achieved high scores in almost every area. The beautiful looks of the bicycle were also clearly very popular.”
Second in this category was the Mondraker Prime RX, for the second year in a row. “Impressive looks, sporty design, smooth engine, dynamic steering, low weight… the Mondraker Prime RX ticks it all off.”
Speed pedelecs
In the speed pedelecs (support up to 45 km/h), the Riese & Müller Charger4 GT Rohloff HS (recommended retail price: 9,180 euros) took the victory. “A bicycle that convinced the professional jury with its powerful engine and its large driving range. The private testers were completely blown away by the efficient gearbox and the good ergonomics. A bicycle that has clearly been developed for the real mileage eater.”
The Kettler Pinniato Speed finished second. “A very close second place for this speed pedelec, which received a high rating in almost every aspect. Comfort, efficiency and robustness are the characteristics that best summarize the judges’ scores.”
