Married three times
About ten years ago, Elle van Rijn met the Italian Nicola. After two divorces, she is now happily married to him. But that was preceded by a lot of sadness. She now also understands that her marriage to Kaja, in which daughters Helena and Katelijne were born, was on the rocks. ‘Maybe we were each other’s rebound and not suitable for the long term. Our lives were too different for that.’ Elle moved from Haarlem to Het Gooi for her third husband Nicola. David and Feline decided not to move with their mother. They went to live with their father. Elle says that wasn’t an easy time. She felt guilty that she couldn’t always be there for them.
Love life
Her first marriage ended in divorce after just one year. Elle then started a relationship with Victor Neyndorff, with whom she had son David and daughter Feline. Elle left him in 2004, when she fell in love with Kaja Wolffers. Eight months after breaking up with Victor, Elle married Kaja, with whom she had two daughters. In 2012, Kaja fell in love with someone else and a divorce followed. Although Elle’s heart was broken, she did not become bitter. In fact, she still has good contact with Kaja and Elle even looks after the child he had with his new partner when they want to go out for the evening.
