According to Rick’s lawyer, these messages from Marc would fall under ‘libel, slander and insult’. In the lawsuit, Marc stated that Rick had posted messages online in which he called Marc a liar. These messages were about an alleged stomach reduction.

The judge has now ruled that both men are no longer allowed to share these messages. If they do this, they will have to pay a penalty. The judge does not believe it is necessary for them to send corrections to a number of media that wrote reports about the tweets, such as Media newspaper.

Marc had also requested that the court ask Rick not to make any more ‘unlawful statements’ about him from now on. But the judge did not agree with this.

Marc has now responded to the judge’s ruling. “It is tragic that an issue between two colleagues and former friends had to come to court at all. I wanted to settle from the start, but the other party did not want that,” says Marc.

Marc is ‘happy’ that the judge has now recorded a number of matters. “It has also been a wise and expensive lesson: never respond to social media again, no matter what nonsense is said,” the royalty expert adds. “By the way, I wish Rick the best.”

The two men worked together for the magazine for more than ten years Royalty. The two royal family experts can appeal against the verdict.
