Now Cupid has hit the mark after all. “She saw me on television standing at the altar and was disappointed. That she should have contacted me earlier,” Bastiaan says about his new love.
The lady in question was no stranger to Bastiaan, so it was no love at first sight. He had known her ‘for about four years’. “We were supposed to go on a date one day but that fell through.” After his appearance on TV, Bastiaan received a message from her. “Whether I would like to have a drink with her, hoping that she would not ruin my marriage. I accepted that.”
The fact that this is a serious relationship is evident from the fact that Bastiaan has now met her children. He thoroughly enjoys being in love. “We click with her because we communicate on the same wavelength. She is a warm, sweet and emotionally accessible person.”
About that tattoo: how does his new girlfriend feel about having the letter S of his ex-wife on his upper arm? “Mainly a bit stupid,” Bastiaan admits. “Oh well, sometimes you do crazy things. And it reminds me of a good time.”
