Bassist Chris Cross has died at the age of 71. The British musician was best known for the band Ultravox. Bandmate Midge Ure announced Cross’ death.
In a post on Instagram, Ure calls the bassist “the glue that held the band together.” “We worked together, played together, made music together and directed videos together. We were instant friends and Ultravox comrades,” writes the singer and guitarist.
With the number Vienna Ultravox scored a number 1 hit in the Netherlands in 1981. In 1984 the group released the song Dancing With Tears in My Eyes again in the Dutch hit list.
The musician, born Chris Allen, is, according to sources The Independent already performs on March 25. But the news was only shared with the public this week.
