British King Charles will resume his public duties from next week. Buckingham Palace has announced this. In February he temporarily stopped work after doctors discovered that he had cancer.

“The medical team is very encouraged by the progress made to date and remains positive about the King’s continued recovery,” a Royal House spokesperson said. The medical treatment has not yet been completed.

It has never been revealed which form of cancer the king has. The palace has recently released few details about the king’s health. It is known that the disease was discovered at an early stage.

Visit to clinic

75-year-old Charles’s first official occasion will be a visit to a cancer clinic. There he will meet medical specialists and patients. He has a number of appointments planned in the coming weeks. These will be adjusted “to minimize the risks to his further recovery”.

In the statement, the royal family also announced that the British royal couple will receive the Japanese Emperor and Empress in June.
