Frans Bauer (50) has been trying to lose weight for quite some time. In the latest episode of ‘De Bauers – 20 years later’, his wife Mariska (48) has found a special way to combat the kilos.
“I can see my toes! I couldn’t do that before.”
It’s time again for Frans’s age-old battle against the kilos. Mariska started looking for a way to speed up his weight loss process. She hopes that he will lose some centimeters by means of a mud suit. How does that work? With Mariska’s help, Frans wraps himself completely in mud-soaked bandages. He has to ‘let that sit for a while’, Mariska announces. According to her, that should dissolve his fat.
Mariska is enthusiastic: “It sounds really great. I thought I would try that sometime.” Before they start, Mariska measures his chest. 127 cm. “And you say, if we apply that stuff half an hour later, it should be less.” Then she measures his waist. 118.
Sons Jan, Frans Junior and Christiaan have their own opinion. “So at a certain point you think: I’m not going to exercise, I’m going to do all kinds of other things to lose weight,” says Christiaan in surprise. “It’s going completely crazy,” notes Frans Junior.
While Mariska spreads some more clay, Frans starts to feel quite warm. “I think that’s the intention,” says Mariska. Frans then puts on the suit and has to wait half an hour.
While they take off the bandage together in the shower a little later, Frans immediately believes that it has helped. “Look, Maris! That’s centimeters missing, right? I can see my toes! I couldn’t do that earlier.”
Mariska measures Frans’ chest again in the hope that the circumference is now less than 127 centimeters. “Seriously, no joke: 124 centimeters,” Mariska shouts with a smile from ear to ear. Frans can hardly believe it. “I’m going back in it tonight.” The suit has also done something for his waist. There he is two centimeter. According to him, the suit has been ‘more successful’ than his personal training. “I have found the golden egg.”
