Burna Boy’s concert in the Johan Cruijff Arena on June 9 is cancelled. Organizer Bon Bon Entertainment reports this on the website. The show has been canceled due to ‘unforeseen circumstances that mean we cannot maintain our high event standards’.
Bon Bon Entertainment apologizes to fans. “We remain committed to delivering high-quality events and are grateful for the understanding and continued support of our ticket buyers and Burna Boy fans.” The organization does not report whether the show will be moved.
Burna Boy posted on his Instagram story on Thursday afternoon that the concert was canceled because the event organizers did not fulfill their contractual obligations. It is unclear whether this refers to Bon Bon Entertainment or the Johan Cruijff Arena. The Johan Cruijff Arena does not want to respond substantively and refers to Bon Bon Entertainment. That organization cannot be reached for comment.
Furthermore, the artist reports that ticket buyers will receive a refund within 30 days.
It is the second time that a Burna Boy performance in the Netherlands has been canceled. Last time this only became apparent when fans had already been standing in the Gelredome in Arnhem for hours. That show ended up being moved up a month.
