Artists such as Olivia Rodrigo and Keane have had to cancel their concerts at the new Co-op Live stadium in Manchester because the venue is experiencing technical problems. Take That performances cannot take place either.
Keane was initially due to perform on Sunday and Take That were due to perform five shows next week. Keane said on social media that he was “extremely disappointed” that the concert could not go ahead.
“This is due to ongoing technical issues at the location, which are beyond our control,” the band wrote in a statement. Take That’s performances have now been moved to another location: the AO Arena in Manchester.
The past week has been very difficult for the Co-op Live. A performance by rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie was canceled at the last minute and two performances by Olivia Rodrigo also had to be postponed.
The operators of the complex announced in a statement that they are now aiming for an opening on May 14.
