King Frederik and Queen Mary’s first day in Sweden is almost over. The Danish royal couple have traveled to their neighboring country for a two-day state visit. The first day ends on Monday evening with a state banquet at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. View the images below.
State visit to Sweden
On Monday morning, King Frederik and Queen Mary will be received by their hosts, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia. Both royal couples will then complete a busy schedule in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. The first day traditionally ends with a state banquet at the Royal Palace. Tonight the occasion is extra special, because it is the first time that Frederik and Mary dine as king and queen during a state banquet.

Floating palace
King Frederik and Queen Mary make their first state visit on the royal ship Dannebrog. The yacht serves as a sailing palace. The Danish royal couple will spend the night on the ship and prepare for the many appointments awaiting them in Sweden. On Monday evening, Frederik and Mary will depart from the Dannebrog, on their way to the state banquet at the Royal Palace.

State banquet
During the state banquet, Frederik and Mary dine with members of the Swedish royal family. In addition to King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel will also be present. As well as Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia. Fashion
Queen Mary wears a gold-colored evening dress during the state banquet, which she previously wore in 2017. However, the garment has been altered, because Mary has had a different top put on it. In this way, the Danish queen breathes new life into her evening dress. Mary pairs the gown with jewels from the ruby parure. Her Swedish colleague Queen Silvia wears a green gala dress.
