SCHALKWIJK On Sunday afternoon, April 16, the Recreational Orchestra of the Schalkwijk Music Association Caecilia will put out the tulips in Theater Aan de Slinger in an attractive Spring Concert. This surprising wind orchestra will perform in the theater hall from 2 p.m. Visitors can enjoy a very varied program in which cheerful and recognizable music plays a central role.

The program varies from modern to classical, from pop to life songs. There are guest appearances in between. For example, operetta singer Brigitta Gantevoort sings some well-known classics with her phenomenal soprano. Hetty Verweij, solo singer of Smokey Eyes, sings Dutch evergreens, accompanied by the orchestra. The à capella quintet ‘Priscilla and the Daltons’ sings brilliantly, both with orchestra and solo. Spring couldn’t start better.

The Recreational Orchestra was founded over a year and a half ago and the 28 participants come from the entire region. Some of them had never blown a note at the start, but despite this, conductor and born optimist André Vulperhorst started an orchestra from scratch that is now rocking the roof.

Be pleasantly surprised by both the Recreational Orchestra and the special musical guests during the Spring Concert. Ticket sales are going fast, but there are still tickets for €7.50 for sale via www.aandeslinger.nl
