On Wednesday, March 27, the municipality of Uithoorn organized a meeting for the Schans area together with KRKTR Projectontwikkeling BV (hereinafter KRKTR). Local residents and entrepreneurs were able to get acquainted with KRKTR this evening. KRKTR is the winner of the tender issued by the municipality of Uithoorn to develop the five new homes in the Schans area.
These five homes are part of the plan to develop the Schans area into a green, park-like environment. The municipality has updated residents and entrepreneurs about the state of affairs. KRKTR then presented the design with which they won the tender. The architect of Heren 5 Architecten provided an explanation. There was plenty of room for those present to ask questions.
Purchase agreement
KRKTR was chosen after a so-called public procedure with pre-selection. Interested parties could register for the plan with associated urban development principles. From these applications, three parties were chosen with experience with projects in a historic environment. These three parties have drawn up a plan and presented it to the selection committee.
KRKTR was unanimously chosen as the winner by the selection committee. Mainly because of the high quality of the plan. And the aesthetics committee also responded positively. The five-home project was awarded to KRKTR in October 2023. On February 9, the agreement between KRKTR Projectontwikkeling BV and the municipality of Uithoorn was officially signed.
Pause
The further development and realization of the 5 homes is now ‘on pause’. An appeal has been lodged against the zoning plan adopted last year. The Council of State is expected to make a decision in about a year. Only once this ruling has been made will it become clear whether the homes will actually be built. If construction can take place, KRKTR will further develop the winning plan. Construction can then start.
