April 2, 2024 Tourism Nationwide It’s spring again, and that also means the season of markets and fairs is opened. Stroll past stalls full of pearls (and, admittedly, some old junk here and there), get a snack and a drink, enjoy music and have a chat with the exhibitors. These are the nicest markets and fairs in April, from the Salt Market on the Scheveningen beach to the VerzamelJaarbeurs in Utrecht. You won’t go home empty handed!

Ibiza Xperience Fair

Den Bosch, North Brabant Fancy summer, sun, swaying palm trees and Spanish music? On Saturday April 6 and Sunday April 7 experience the wonderful life in Ibiza during the Ibiza Xperience Fair. Relax in the ‘House of Garden’ with Ibiza sounds, take a seat on a terrace and browse the beautiful things in the stands. During the Ibiza Xperience Fair you are really on holiday – and in the Brabanthallen. The entrance fee is €12.50 for adults.

Salt Market

Scheveningen, South Holland Is there anything nicer than strolling through a market and then having a drink with your feet in the sand? The Salt Market is a cozy lifestyle market on the boulevard of Scheveningen. Slalom between the stalls with the beach and the Scheveningen pier as a backdrop. Wonderful, that rustling of the sea! Who’s up for a bit of bickering? You will visit the Salt Market Saturday April 6 and Sunday April 7 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Kennemer flea market

Haarlem, North Holland Something nice for your home, an original gift or an antique piece of furniture that is very trendy again: you will undoubtedly find something nice at the flea market in the Kennemer Sportcenter. The market has no fewer than two hundred and fifty stalls with mainly second-hand items. You visit the market Sunday April 7 between 9:00 AM and 4:30 PM, the entrance fee is €4.00.

Braderie in Hoofddorp

Hoofddorp, North Holland On Saturday April 6 there is a cozy fair in the center of Hoofddorp from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm: the Marktlaan and part of the Stampplein are filled with market stalls. Perhaps nice to combine with the Biblical Garden: an oasis of peace in Hoofddorp with more than fifty statues, plants, trees and flowers from the Bible.

Curiosities Delft

The center of Delft is already so cozy – especially when there are stalls with beautiful things along the canals. Crockery, jewelry, old prints and books: you will find everything there. Curiosa Delft is every Saturday from April to October along the water of the Hippolytusbuurt, the Voldersgracht and the Wijnhaven. This month you will visit the market on April 6, April 13 and April 20.

Pasar Malam Istimewa XL

Leeuwarden, Friesland Indonesia is closer than you think! During Pasar Malam, which means ‘night market’, you see, feel, taste, smell and hear Indonesian culture. Wander through the large Oriental specialty market with clothing, wall decorations and incense and enjoy Indonesian cuisine in one of the many eateries. In the meantime there is music and dance by various artists. Pasar Malam Istimewa XL is truly an experience! Entry fee is €12.50 for adults, €10.00 for children – check the event website for early bird discount.

Neuzelbeurs

Rijswijk, South Holland It’s gone in De Broodfabriek Saturday April 13 and Sunday April 14 enjoy ‘browsing’ among the nice things during the Neuzelbeurs! With around 200 stands, you can find everything from watches, books and toys to jewellery, tableware and bags. Adults pay €4.00 to enter, children’s entrance is €3.00.

Mega Flea Market

Goes, Zeeland With no fewer than 375 stalls, the Mega Flea Market in Goes can easily be called ‘mega’. On Saturday April 20 the Zeelandhallen are filled with all kinds of second-hand items. Clothing, crockery, toys, bags: what won’t you find there, actually? The entrance fee is €5.00 for adults, children up to ten years old can enter for free. And while you are in the area: these are the most beautiful places in Goes.

CollectingJaarfair

Utrecht, Utrecht From April 19 to 21 Europe’s largest vintage market is coming to Utrecht! At the Collecting Year Fair you will find design pieces, vintage pottery, archaeological finds, nostalgic toys and many retro items. In other words: you don’t go home empty-handed. That is well worth the entrance fee (€ 16.50 for adults, € 8.50 for children aged eight and over).

On Saturday April 27 it is King’s Day in the Netherlands. Then there is plenty to do throughout the country, from flea markets to royal games and dance festivals.
