A pre-school care center in the Utrecht Overvecht district and an after-school care center in Leidsche Rijn are closed immediately. The childcare locations could not be found in the National Childcare Register. The municipality of Utrecht is now looking into whether there are more childcare centers in the city without a permit. RTV Utrecht reports this.
Opening a childcare facility is not permitted without registration. It is not possible to assess childcare on quality requirements if it is not registered anywhere.

The Childcare Inspectorate started the investigation after they received a report from the municipality of Utrecht. Six children aged 2.5 to 4 years were cared for at the location in the Overvecht district. The childcare was called Private Preschool. The shelter was closed down by the co-owner the same day.
Twenty children between the ages of 5 and 10 were cared for at the location in Leidsche Rijn. Councilor Eelco Eerenberg understands that the closure of the daycare is drastic for children, parents and employees. “But shelter without registration is not responsible.”
