UTRECHT > The oldest primary school in Utrecht, public Dalton primary school Pieterskerkhof, celebrates its 200th anniversary with a grand week of celebrations in September, for students and former students, (former) colleagues and parents.
The school was founded in 1824, making it the oldest, still vibrant primary school in the city of Utrecht. The monumental school building at the Pieterskerkhof has been home to the city’s first ‘public school’ for 129 years. In 1934, Pieterskerkhof became one of the first Dalton schools in the Netherlands. Contemporary education is still provided in this historic building to approximately 220 students. In 2024, Pieterskerkhof is a real inner-city school.
The festive week of Dalton School Pieterskerkhof will officially start on Monday, September 16, 2024 with the unveiling of a new logo and the singing of the school song. Students then dive into history. There are activities for the children every day and their school week ends with a music performance.
The highlight of the two-century celebration of public Dalton primary school Pieterskerkhof is the reunion for all former students and former colleagues on Saturday, September 21. Save the date in your calendar! From May 2024 you can register on the school website.
