The public Dalton primary school Pieterskerkhof is the oldest primary school in Utrecht. The primary school, founded in 1824, will celebrate its 200th anniversary in September this year with a major week of celebrations. This festive week is open to students, former students, colleagues, former colleagues and parents, according to VAR NWS.

With its 200 years of life, the primary school is the oldest in the city of Utrecht. The public primary school has been located at the Pieterskerkhof for 129 years. In 1934, the Pieterskerkhof became one of the first Dalton schools in the Netherlands. At that time it was still very special to have a school that emphasizes the freedom of choice for the students. In this monumental building, located in the city center of Utrecht, education is still provided to approximately 220 students.

The festive week

During the festive week of the Dalton school, which will be officially opened on September 16, all kinds of activities are planned that are related to the historic school. The festive week will be opened with the presentation of the new primary school logo. The school song will also be sung during the opening. This week the students will also take a look at the history of the oldest primary school in Utrecht. The festive week ends with a music performance.

The real highlight of the festive week will take place on Saturday, September 21. A reunion is planned on that date between former students and former colleagues of the school. From May it is possible to register via the school website.
