North Brabant has its own public transport bicycle. The anniversary bicycle has just been unveiled at the bicycle shed at ‘s-Hertogenbosch station. The OV-fiets is celebrating its fifteenth anniversary this year. To celebrate this, a special public transport bicycle has been made for each province by artist Daniël Roozendaal.

The Brabant bicycle features a sausage roll, otters from the Biesbosch, the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven and the Bolwoningen from Den Bosch. The five Brabant bicycles can soon be found in Den Bosch, Eindhoven and Roosendaal.

Councilor Roy Geers (mobility) of ‘s-Hertogenbosch was present at the unveiling. “The OV-fiets is important to us, because Den Bosch is a cycling city. It is also important that bicycles are used a lot, because that makes this a liveable city. It is also ideal for going from the station to work, an event or to school. And how wonderful is it that you can find such a beautiful Brabant public transport bicycle!”

NS Regional Director Magdalena Piotrowska adds: “We notice that the popularity of the public transport bicycle continues to grow, also in Brabant. Last year, almost 650,000 trips were made in the province. To ensure that travelers can also use the public transport bicycle for the next fifteen years, we will continue to expand and develop.”
