De Biotoop will hold an open day on Sunday, May 26, 2024

Creative breeding ground De Biotoop in Haren is holding another open day. Workshops, studios and various companies open their doors and this year there is also a varied day program.

During the free open day you can wander all day on the Biotoop’s eight-hectare site. Everyone is welcome among artists, entrepreneurs, musicians, craftsmen, designers and (cultural) innovators of the Biotoop. This year you can also take a tour of the residential wings.

Experience the Biotope

Be inspired by the enthusiasm of the various artists and innovative entrepreneurs. Consult with them about a design for a portrait, a website, house or garden, furniture or clothing. Shop at the Biotoopwinkel, visit the exhibition space KEL-30, listen to music and performance artists. Go to a book presentation and watch videos and portraits of Biotopers in their living and working spaces in the large hall of Vleugel F. Or take a tour of a residential building, visit the Open Greenhouse or take a look at the Self-Harvest Garden.

Especially for children

This year there is a lot to do for children again. They can do crafts, play memory and learn Gronings in the meantime or chill in the special chill tent. There is a playground for the little ones and there are nature treasure hunts around the grounds for children and their parents. Of course, you can also simply play outside on one of the playgrounds on site. You can earn an ice cream by collecting stickers.

Food and drink

There is plenty to enjoy. At the Open Kas you can enjoy a pizza from the wood-fired clay oven and other warm savory snacks. And on the terrace of Vleugel F you can enjoy coffee, tea, apple pie and savory snacks.

Accessibility and parking

Come by bike or public transport. Anyone who comes by car; use the free Haren P+R along the A28. A free shuttle bus runs from there. In all other cases: parking space opposite the Hortus.
