GOES – An event started at CIOS Southwest Netherlands on Thursday at 9 a.m.: students are moving non-stop for 24 hours, all for a good cause. In collaboration with the Het Vergeten Kind foundation, the students will raise money to give vulnerable children an unforgettable experience. The event takes place in the Omnium in Goes and is open to the public, with free entry.
There are activities for young and old. The gymnasium will be converted into a play paradise for children from groups 1 to 8. With various sports activities, workshops and craft options, plenty of entertainment is provided. Children can participate in these activities for three euros per person. Later in the evening a fun bingo is planned, accessible to all ages for 2.50 euros per card. Competitions are also held between teachers and students, followed by night classes provided by the students themselves.
World Champion Xam
The event will conclude on Friday morning with a dance clinic by world hip-hop freestyle champion, DJ and dancer Xam, from 7:00 am to 8:45 am. Participation in this clinic costs three euros.
Teacher Ariska Tax emphasizes the importance of extra attention for vulnerable children. She challenged her students to make a positive impact by raising money for The Forgotten Child. It took at least 20 students to start an action, but all the students in her class decided to participate voluntarily.
During the LOB (Career Orientation Guidance) lessons, the students were able to prepare their actions, arranging everything themselves, from bingo prizes to sponsors for the event.
The Forgotten Child
The Forgotten Child is committed to providing children who cannot simply go on holiday for various reasons with an unforgettable time. Heppie Vakanties & Weekenden organizes special outings for these vulnerable children. By participating in the event, visitors can not only enjoy a day of fun and exercise, but also help create unforgettable experiences for children who need it most.
