The national nitrogen policy frustrates Ingrid de Sain, especially the difference in treatment of the different sectors. She emphasizes the importance of technological innovations to reduce emissions.
Even before I entered politics, there was already a commotion about the possible barriers between ammonia (NH3) and nitrogen oxide (NOx). The sector could talk and take action to do everything it could to protect the sector. Unfortunately, no separation between ammonia and nitrogen oxide was achieved. Because yes, other companies or industries were more important than the agricultural sector. Time passes and Schiphol buys up several farms to obtain the coveted NB permit. Mega sums were paid for this ammonia space, partly with taxpayers’ money. Citizens looked at it and often did not realize that it was also paid for with their tax money. The PAS reporters were left behind and were on their own again.
Now, more than a year later, in the Provincial Council, a motion was passed to introduce a division between ammonia and nitrogen oxide. The major opponents at the time had now suddenly become supporters. Things can sometimes get very strange. However, this motion came much too late. Almost all space in North Holland, partly South Holland and Utrecht had already been purchased by Schiphol without the assistance of a single PAS reporter, interim or exempt company.
But what do I read in the newspaper? Minister Van der Wal has adjusted the nitrogen standard for Schiphol. Against her better judgment and the advice of her officials, Van der Wal allowed Schiphol to fully utilize all purchased ammonia rights.
Wait a minute, this makes me angry. Once again there is a double standard, what a dirty and dirty game is being played. If we want to build houses, widen roads, organize events or anything else that involves emissions, 30 percent must first be skimmed off and a calculation made to see whether nature can cope. But none of this applies to Schiphol.
Every PAS reporter can be helped with technology and innovations
The entire country is on lockdown, except Schiphol. You can’t get me angrier than this. I feel so powerless. Every PAS reporter can be helped with technology and innovations.
These techniques are making enormous progress. Many innovations have been devised to reduce emissions. It’s not about nitrogen at all. It is about preserving nature, to see whether we are pursuing the right ambitions instead of air cycling. Nature must remain stable. But Van der Wal cheerfully rejects all these techniques and innovations together with Adema, because yes, nature is in a very bad state. I wonder out loud when they were last in the manufacturing environment of BV Nederland. How long can they continue to ignore society and do what they please?
And this brings us back to the statement of Tjeerd de Groot, who first called for the livestock herd to be halved in 2019. The government has still not succeeded. But in The Hague they keep coming up with all kinds of ideas to halve the livestock population one way or the other. They say that they have been to Brussels, that they have worked hard to maintain the derogation, that they are doing their utmost to help the PAS reporters. Nothing is less true. The derogation has been given away. PAS reporters are not helped and are left to their fate. I wonder if Van der Wal and Adema are still sleeping well.
Unfortunately, I am not in charge in The Hague. Fortunately, some of my BBB colleagues do. On June 6, we can go to the polls again with great speed. And vote in the European elections for rural areas. It’s done with these idiots with their own agenda. Stand up for yourself, your family, your own company. Don’t let yourself be grabbed or crushed. We are the countryside and don’t give up westay .
