Marciano Vink names Joey Veerman as the best player of the season. According to the analyst of ESPN Veerman has been the best player at PSV this season and in the entire competition, although his teammate also receives an honorable mention.
Veerman scored a goal and an assist against SC Heerenveen on Thursday evening (0-8 win). After giving an interview to ESPN, Vink came along the field with words of praise for the PSV player. “For me, I think he is the best player of the season at PSV. And therefore also the competition. The only doubt I have is Luuk de Jong. He is simply very complete with his goals, assists and play as a combination player. This is how you want to play football as a striker.”

According to Vink, PSV is the right (unofficial) champion. “The intensity with which this team plays football from the first to the last minute…,” he says, salivating. “There have been moments when things weren’t quite right tactically – the first halves of Dortmund away and Ajax home – but other than that few real mistakes were made.
