Due to construction work, no NS trains will run to and from Zwolle until Wednesday. Train traffic at Amsterdam Central Station is also experiencing disruption due to construction work.

Parts of a new wooden footbridge are being installed at and around Zwolle station using large cranes. This means that trains cannot run. The NS operates buses from early in the morning until midnight. More trains will run again on Thursday, but disruption will remain. Buses are also used then.

The NS reports that travelers should take into account approximately half an hour of extra travel time. The timetable to and from Zwolle is expected to return to normal from Friday.

Amsterdam

As of today, there will be no trains running on the route between Amsterdam Central Station and Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena station due to construction work. As a result, it is not possible to travel from Amsterdam Central Station by intercity to Utrecht Central Station until May 4.

During the work, ProRail will replace the sleepers under a number of switches at Amsterdam Central Station and parts of the platform at Amsterdam Amstel station will be repaired. A railway bridge near Amsterdam Amstel station is also being renovated.

The NS advises travelers from Utrecht destination Amsterdam Central to travel via Amsterdam Zuid station and then transfer to metro 52 with their NS ticket. Due to the work, it is expected to be a lot busier in the area until May 4. the metros on this line.

Subways

Metros in the capital are also affected by the work. From Wednesday to Saturday they do not run between Amstelstation and Spaklerweg. This affects three metro lines. Shuttle buses are used between Amstel station and Spaklerweg.

Metro line 52, which runs between Amsterdam Zuid station and Amsterdam Central Station, is not affected by the work.

Tilburg

Major work also started at Tilburg station yesterday, meaning that no train traffic to and from the station will be possible for more than two weeks. It is no coincidence that all this work takes place during the May holidays, reports the NS: fewer travelers then experience inconvenience.
