Part of the center of Rolde is getting a new look. The old bowling center and pizzeria Bella Rosa are making way for a new restaurant and homes.

When you drive through Rolde’s Main Street, you will only see remnants of the old bowling center and the former pizzeria Bella Rosa. A large number of the buildings have now been demolished. The bowling alleys will make way for three homes. A new restaurant will be built on the site of the old pizzeria, with two apartments above it.

“We are making it chic,” says architect and co-owner Peter de Boer.

Three pointed roofs

The contours of the former bowling center will soon be recognizable again. The three houses will have the same recognizable gabled roofs – on which a large white pin and a bowling ball were depicted at the time. In the new situation, the facades are slightly further away from the road.

The demolition has just started. That was a big job, according to De Boer. “Because the tracks ran all the way under the building.”

Ready in October

The balcony above the restaurant area, which served as an outdoor veranda, has also been demolished. The conservatory and terrace area will remain and will have a new look. An operator for the catering business has now been found.

“By the summer it already looks quite similar to the impressions,” assures De Boer. The intention is for the buildings to be completely ready in October.
